As companies and stores take measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk to staff and customers, I wanted to give you an update on what you can expect from Steeves Agencies. We are fortunate in that our office is relatively small (in terms of staff) and we don’t get a lot of walk-in traffic. We believe that our exposure is minimal, but we are still taking all the precautions we can. These include:

  • staying home when sick,
  • avoiding close contact with others,
  • covering one’s mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing; discarding used tissues,
  • washing your hands, and
  • regularly both cleaning and disinfecting objects and surfaces.

Our staff are encouraged to self-isolate at home if the need should arise and we are considering other options that may become necessary in the near future. These include:

  • working from home as much as possible
  • limiting entry to our building to the shipping doors only for more effective social distancing

We are still here if you need us.

We also recognize that you may still be operating and you may have questions, or need information. You can reach us by phone, by email, or through our Contact Form at any time. We will do our very best to be available throughout this pandemic and will make every effort to meet our customers’ required delivery dates. We will also proactively update customers who may be affected by shipping delays that result from this pandemic.

If you haven’t already received enough information about COVID-19 and how to best prevent the spread of this virus, here are some good websites to check.

According to the Government of Canada, coronaviruses are a large family of viruses known to cause illness ranging from a common cold to more severe diseases, such as respiratory or kidney failure. Other known coronaviruses include Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

Coronavirus itself is not severe but may cause rare instances of infections or fatalities, especially for vulnerable people, including the elderly and infants. In order to protect yourself, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the following:

  • staying home when sick,
  • avoiding close contact with others,
  • covering one’s mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing; discarding used tissues,
  • washing your hands, and
  • regularly both cleaning and disinfecting objects and surfaces.
